The Green Dubai
World Forum
Green Dubai World Forum 2008, is held in
commemoration of the anniversary of the historic
declaration on Green Dubai 2008, made on 24th
October 2007 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister
of the UAE & Ruler of Dubai. This historic
declaration has enabled Dubai to take Global
Leadership in sustainable development in light of
global climate change crisis threatening Mankind.
Green Dubai World Forum is an independent, Free Zone
Organization. We are striving towards a sustainable
world where values are as important a basis as
rules. Our motto is ‘promotion of Green and
sustainable development in Dubai and rest of the
world. We believe that progress without sustainable
development concepts is not conducive for
mankind.

Our vision for Green Dubai World Forum is to foster
the relationship between governments and private
sector in order to achieve sustainable development
in Dubai and the rest of the world. We enjoy a
unique standing by recognizing and responding to two
developments:
• The world’s key environmental challenges cannot be
met by governments, business or civil society alone.
• In an environmentally challenged world
characterized by complexity, fragility and ever
greater synchronicity, strategic insights cannot be
passively acquired. They are best developed through
continuous interaction with peers and with the most
knowledgeable people in the field.
To carry out its mission, the Green Dubai World
Forum has developed an integrated value chain by
involving world leaders in communities, inspiring
them with strategic insights and enabling them
through Green and Sustainable initiatives.

The Green Dubai
World Forum 2008
Green Dubai World Forum will develop through the
Forum of global scientists a comprehensively written
document for a roadmap to a sustainable future in
2015 in line with His Highness Strategic Plan for
2015.
We need to understand sustainability not only in
terms of product development or natural resource
use, but also in terms of the human impact and
footprint on the planet.
This Roadmap Document will do just that, and much
more. It is not only geared towards economists and
other academics, but towards the wider audience of
activists, concerned individuals, and people in the
process of working towards the future. The document
will clearly discuss how the prescribed model works
and can be applied to any municipality, state,
country, or other entity. Roadmap Documents like
this give us hope - hope that is based in science
and that
is economically sound.
